Spring Wellness Reboot

March 18, 2024

The birds chirping a little louder, the flowers will soon be peeking through the soil, the days are getting longer. Yep, spring is on its way! Spring brings new beginnings and and exciting energy. It’s the perfect time to give your body some extra self care and plan for the months ahead. Here are some tips to get that journey going.

Get Outside

Take advantage of that extra daylight and get outside. Sunshine supports not only our mood but our health as well. So, take the book you’re reading out on the deck, meet friends for a happy hour outside, hike that trail you’ve been itching to do all winter. Spring is a great time to take up a new outdoor hobby, such as gardening, walking, running, biking, hiking, or get back into an old favorite outdoor activity that you love. It will do your body good. Oh, and don’t forget that SPF!

Eat The Rainbow

One of the easiest ways to spring clean your diet is to add more colorful foods into your meals. Eating vibrant vegetables and fruits will help you get in plenty of different vitamins and minerals. Our bodies are adjusting to the seasonal changes so fatigue can happen. The more color you eat, the better you will feel. (at least it works for me!)

Buy The Flowers

I love having fresh flowers in my home. Stores are usually bursting with colorful blooms this time of year so why not treat yourself to some posies? It’s a quick way to brighten up a space, make it feel more welcoming, and bring the outside in. Check out your local farmer’s markets for fresh local blooms!

Treat Your Feet

And your hands while you’re at it. 😉 Take some time out of the day to do a nice foot soak and scrub. Exfoliate away all that winter dryness with a natural pumice stone and slather on some super nourishing foot cream. Do this a few times to get your feet ready for sandal weather.(putting on socks immediately after helps too) Be sure to pamper your hands as well, with a salt or sugar scrub followed by some hand lotion. Throw on a mud or hydrating mask and you’ve got yourself an at home spa day.

Go Through Your Closet

I like to go through my clothes when the seasons start to change and weed out things I haven’t worn in awhile. I donate things that still look nice, list items on poshmark if they were a bit pricey/designer and throw away anything with holes or stains. This helps me organize my closet and maybe buy a few things to replace those old, stained articles. 🙂

Spring Clean Your Home

I’m not one of those people who loves to clean, in fact I see cleaning for what it is…a chore. It is nice though, to open those windows for a few hours and air out your home while doing a little cleaning/organizing. A “big clean” can seem overwhelming to me so I break up my spring cleaning into a smaller projects that can be done over a few weeks. Make a list and check things off. It’s so satisfying.

These things always help me feel ready to embrace the season and all it has to offer. I hope they help you as well!
