As I’ve written on here before, I try my best to pack only a carry on bag. I like that we can just hit the ground running when we arrive at our destination and not wait for our bags to maybe come out at baggage claim. So, because we carry on I’ve had to swap out some of my normal beauty products for more TSA friendly ones. Here are some of my favorite travel toiletries that you can keep in your carry on.
Dry Shampoo Volume Powder
I pack my favorite shampoo when I travel but I also throw this in my bag. It’s perfect for those days when you don’t have time to wash your hair but you need a little pick me up. This dry shampoo contains no talc, parabens, baking soda, or phthalates. It only requires a small amount to absorb oil and adds instant volume to your hair. The lavender scent is really nice and it gives your hair a fresh smell and feeling. Find it on Amazon here.
L’Occitane Savon Vissage
This face soap is great for traveling. It will leave your skin feeling fresh and clean and it lasts forever. I really loved the old version of this soap. It had a mild scent, shea butter, and worked well with my dry skin and Andrew’s slightly oily skin. It’s been discontinued for some reason and this has been nice replacement. Find it at your local L’Occitane store or online here.
Facial Wipes
Nothing feels better than pulling put a nice cool, fresh smelling facial wipe after a long flight and giving your face a little clean up. I really like Yes To Cucumber Hypoallergenic Facial Wipes or Simple Sensitive Wipes. They don’t take up a lot of space and they fit nicely in my purse too.
Honey House Natural Bar Lotion
A friend gave me this lotion bar as a gift a couple of years ago (thanks Jillian!) and it’s perfect for travel. My favorite is the Hawaiian scent, just dampen your hands a bit and let the amazing butters in this bar do their magic. This lotion bar lasts a really long time, I just bought a replacement this past February. Find it here .
Solid Sunscreen
Raw Elements natural sunscreen is certified organic and cruelty free. It’s gentle formula is chocked full of minerals and is moisturizing, not greasy. Neutrogena is also a great choice, this sunscreen stick is oil and PABA-free. It goes on completely dry and is perfect for your face and body.
These are my top five toiletries that I always have in my carry on bag. Now, sometimes I need my regular products too, like my anti frizz serum. If we’re going somewhere humid it’s going in my bag or I’ll look like Monica when Friends went to Barbados. You can buy TSA friendly containers for your favorite products but another trick that I use is I repurpose my contact lens cases. Whenever I buy I new bottle of contact lens cleaner they put a new lens case in there. I have SO MANY of these cases. They are the perfect size to pump some serum into or to put a blob of Clearasil rapid rescue…just don’t mix up the two.
Are you planning any trips? I’d love to know where everyone is venturing off to 🙂
