Friday Finds November 18

November 18, 2022

Happy Friday! I’m wrapping up Parent Teacher Conferences today and as much as I love teaching, these two days of conferences are not my favorite. Yep, I said it. I do not like parent teacher conferences and wish they were only once a year. It’s exhausting talking to adults and I’d rather just teach the kiddos. Anyway! Today’s finds include a travel reminder, a yummy pie recipe, Thanksgiving inspo and some mocktails for a crowd.

Real ID is Coming

We’ve been hearing about Real ID for years, you’d see signs in the airport but the deadline kept getting pushed. Well, the time is finally approaching where if you want to travel domestically in the US and don’t have a passport you will need to get one. I recently read an article from the NY Times here with some good info and a free article here from Real Simple. It’s always good to be on top of these things so travel plans don’t get ruined.

Cranberry Lemon Meringue Pie

Pie is one of my favorite desserts. It’s honestly the one thing I really love about Thanksgiving, all of the different pies. I made a super good cranberry curd tart last year but this cranberry lemon meringue pie looks pretty amazing. I may not make it for Thanksgiving but will definitely try it out this season. Sidenote: Cranberry pies/tarts are SO pretty and are always showstoppers at dinner parties and gatherings.

Thanksgiving in Normandy

I love anything France related and this Domino article has a super pretty tablescape in Normandy, France. I love that she used things that she already had at home to create an inviting and festive table. The author also shares tips on easy DIY projects to add that extra special touch. The idea of giving smudge sticks as a take home gift for guests? Love it! Perfect way to use up some of that sage that is still in the garden. Here are some smudge stick ideas.

Thanksgiving Mocktails

Mocktails are some of my favorite drinks. Who needs an actual cocktail when these taste so good? The apple pie punch, pear lemonade with Thai basil, and slow cooker cranberry apple cider look like perfect drinks to serve alongside your beer and wine.

Have a great weekend and Thanksgiving next week!
