Happy Friday! This week has felt super long with the time change, full moon and elections on Tuesday. The weather has also been all over the place, it was in the 70s Monday and I woke up to frost on my car Thursday morning. It’s been a strange week. Thankfully, I have today off from work. (thank you Veterans). This week’s finds include some work/life advice, a fun movie, a cute shop and a gingerbread display.
Toxic Productivity
Every heard of toxic productivity? I hadn’t, until a friend sent me this article. Think she was trying to tell me something? haha… It’s true, I’m guilty of trying to fill my time, especially when we were stuck home for so long. Right now I use a lot of my free time practicing my French, learning to crochet, trying new recipes, working at my local airport and writing on here. It’s definitely hard to break that cycle of always doing something.
See How They Run
I love a good whodunit and this has the feel of an old timey mystery/comedy. Set in 1950s West End of London, plans for the movie adaptation of a popular play come to an abrupt halt after a pivotal member of the crew is murdered. The storyline will keep you guessing until the end! It is available on HBOmax right now.
Sonja Bajic Studio
I stumbled across this cute shop full of prints, maps, calendars and cards. A lot of her prints are of Paris, so not a shocker that I instantly fell in love with her whimsical style. I just ordered her wall calendar and cannot wait to use it in 2023. Got the shipping notice yesterday…yay!
NYC – Gingerbread Style
I love making and gawking at creative gingerbread houses. Mine are never super elaborate but I still enjoy the whole process. The Museum of the City of New York is hosting its first ever Gingerbread NYC: The Great Borough Bake-Off. Selected bakers created a gingerbread display to represent their respective neighborhoods, inspired by the theme “Winter in New York.” Check out starting today through January 8. This article has some great photos too.
Have a great weekend!
