Happy Friday! How is it May already? I’m glad that we are in a new month, it means that the end of school countdown can begin. I am SO ready for summer and much needed relaxation. This week’s finds include some Negroni tips, a summer book list and a meatless round up.
Best Vermouths For A Negroni
I love a Negroni! I discovered this love in Brussels of all places, so random. Who goes to the beer capital of the world and finds an appreciation for an Italian cocktail? Me…it’s me. Anyway, Food & Wine compiled a list of 6 sweet vermouths for a perfect Negroni. They break down the sweetness and even the viscosity so you can create a Negroni that is perfect for you. Dolin and Noilly Prat(which didn’t make the cut) are what we tend to have on hand. 🙂
Beach Reads
Summer will be here before we know it and that means extra time to read why lounging by the pool or on the beach. Harper’s Bazar just published a list of their top reads for the summer and I love that they are not all “chick lit” type books. It’s a great mix of thrillers, rom-coms and memoirs. I’m adding The Women, One of Us Knows, Swan Song and The Midnight Feast to my Goodreads want to read list! I can’t resist a Elin Hilderbrand book, especially in the summer.

Mushrooms Please
We’ve been trying to cut back a bit on the amount of meat that we eat. A great way to do this is to incorporate mushrooms into your meals. They have enough meaty, earthiness that you don’t miss the bacon. NYT Cooking had some great looking mushroom dishes. The Mushroom Gnocchi and Portobello ‘Steak’ au Poivre look especially tasty.
Have a wonderful weekend!
