Friday Finds September 2

September 2, 2022

This was my first week back to get ready for the school year and I am exhausted. And I don’t even have students yet! Getting back into a routine is always tough but I’ll get there. This week’s finds include some fall travel inspiration, a time saving breakfast, a new show, and a holiday treat.

Countryside Living

There is a new feature on Airbnb where you can look at countryside homes. Is there ever a more perfect time to rent a countryside home then leaf peeping season? Conde Nast put out this list of 9 beautiful countryside properties. The one in Newbury, NH and Idaho Spring, CO caught my eye. Be sure to check out that sort feature on Airbnb, there are some lovely New England rentals.

Breakfast Casserole

I already do a lot of meal planning but with school starting back up I start to add breakfast and lunch plans back in the mix. Overnight oats are always an easy grab and go breakfast, or a smoothie but sometimes you want more. Something savory that will get you through until lunch. This breakfast casserole is just that. It’s nice too because you can make it your own. Have some spinach in the fridge? Throw that in. Leftover Italian sausage? Sounds great. Make this on Sunday and you have breakfast for a few days.

The Rings of Power

Did anyone else watch The Rings of Power on Amazon last night? It was really good, it made me want to go back and watch the Tolkien series. The first time I sat down with my brother to watch a Lord of the Rings movie I fell asleep…haha! I mean in my defense they are LONG movies but I didn’t fall asleep during this show. The Rings of Power takes place thousands of years before the events of The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. I like that we’re getting prequels to old favorites, like with GOT and House of the Dragon. Anyway, if you are into fantasy check this show out!

Holiday Jams

Christmas will be here before you know it and what better way to countdown to the holiday than with this Bonne Maman 2022 Advent Calendar?!?! Each calendar comes with 24 mini jars of limited edition flavors of preserves and honey. We always have Bonne Maman in our fridge so I’m looking forward to trying some of the limited releases. Holiday flavors such as Chestnut & Orange with Spices, Pear with Cocoa Nibs, and Apple with Caramel & Cinnamon sound so good.

Have a great weekend everyone! Andrew and I are celebrating our 12th wedding anniversary this weekend 🙂 And it’s a long weekend, with Monday off so we may try to sneak away or at least go out to dinner 🙂
