It’s Friiiiiiday! It’s also paycheck breakfast pizza Friday. I absolutely love the breakfast pizza at the little corner store near where I teach. I would honestly buy it every morning, but I only allow myself to eat it on pay day. It’s the little things right? This week’s finds include some vacay ideas, a lip saver and a think spring recipe.
Destination Dupes
I found this article entertaining. It has suggestions for alternatives to popular travel destinations. Can’t afford to go to Greece? Check out Catalina Island. Always wanted to go to Germany? Go to Leavenworth, Washington instead. Maine even made this list with Ogunquit as an alternative to The Hamptons.
Lanolips
This time of year my lips are toast. They get wicked dry in the winter and I end up having sore, red lips by spring. I picked up a tube of Lanolips 101 ointment while at Ulta a few months ago and it has been a lip saver for me. The 101 can be used other places too, I’ve used a little dab on my dry cuticles and they were better in no time.

Lemon Ricotta Pasta
I just finished reading One Italian Summer and there’s a part in the book where the main character is eating a lemony ricotta pasta dish. I want that pasta. It sounds so fresh and springy. I found this recipe which looks like it’s sure to transport me to Positano. I kind of want to start a book club that involves cooking a dish that is mentioned in the book. More thoughts on that later.
I hope everyone has a great weekend. And don’t forget to “spring ahead” on Sunday! (yikes…I’m not ready)
