Friday Finds June 3

June 3, 2022

Happy Friday! This has not been a fun week, Covid finally caught up with me and I have to say I am not a fan. I’ve had a super bad headache all week and I all I want to do is sleep. I was totally fine Monday morning, got up at 5:00 and went for a walk to catch the sunrise, did some cleaning and ran some errands. I started to feel strange that afternoon and decided to take a test and boom! Positive. So this week’s finds are pretty limited since I spent most of my days in bed. They include a Netflix binge, a good read, and a sore throat soother.

Stranger Things Season 4

No spoilers here! The new season of Stranger Things has been released on Netflix and I am so glad that I had something to binge while I’ve been miserable at home. This season was SO good and answered some questions that you may have had from previous seasons. Like why is Hawkins the epicenter of the Upside Down and why was Eleven trained with superpowers in the first place? The villain in this season kind of reminded me of the creepy pool creature from Are You Afraid of the Dark?

The Book of Lost Names

I love historical fiction and I find that I am drawn to stories set during WWII. I’ve read two other books by Kristin Harmel and even though I’m only a few chapters into this book I love it already. This story features Eva Traube, a twenty three year old Jewish woman, living in France during WWII. In 1942, as a student living with her parents, Eva and her parents are on a list to be rounded up. Eva’s father is taken but she and her mother are able to escape Paris due to Eva’s artistic talent at falsifying paperwork that will allow them to escape to Switzerland.

Moroccan Sore Throat Tea

I’m a fan of Throat Coat tea and drink it often when I’m under the weather. But I needed something a little stronger with the sore throat I was dealing with this week. This tea is made from three simple ingredients and really helps to soothe your throat.

Have a great weekend and stay healthy my friends!
