I cannot believe that it’s the last weekend of July! It feels like it was just June and now August is upon us and I will be back in the classroom before I know it. I still have a little bit of time though 🙂 This week’s finds include a summer cocktail, a photo collection, some personal care, and some new show info.
“Consider this cocktail your warm-weather escape without the plane ticket” is how this ready to pour cocktail is described on the packaging. It has a bright passion fruit flavor and is simply refreshing on a muggy afternoon. We have the recipe book, Death & Co: Modern Classic Cocktails but have only made a handful of drinks from it. They are super delicious but require ingredients that we don’t always have on hand. Moonsail Fizz is a great way to enjoy the Death & Co craft cocktails without visiting one of their bars. Sidenote: they just opened a bar/restaurant in Portland, Maine called The Danforth.
Dress Like A Woman
My cousin actually recommended that I check out this beautiful book and I’m so glad that she did. Dress Like a Woman- Working Women and What They Wore is a powerful book of photography that represents women and their occupations from around the world. The photos range in time from the late 1800s to present time. I love the photos from the 1940s, even in the midst of a World War the women are so put together.
Let’s talk about a slightly embarrassing problem…thigh chafe. It tends to come out of nowhere in the summer thanks to hot temps and sweaty days spent outside. (yet another reason autumn is my favorite) Megababe has a solution to this uncomfortable problem though. Thigh Rescue is made with aloe to soothe and vitamin E to hydrate and smooth, it is also paraben-free and nontoxic.
House of the Dragon
I don’t know about you but I am super excited about this Game of Thrones prequel. House of the Dragon tells the story of the Targaryen civil war which took place about 300 years before events portrayed in GOT. This article gives you a little more info about the upcoming show which is scheduled to premiere August 21 on HBO/HBOMax.
Enjoy your weekend!
