This Friday marks the end of my summer break. It’s been a great couple of months and I can’t complain about having the time off to rest and recharge for the new school year BUT I’d like a few more weeks 😉 haha! I spent time this week indulging in meals out (SoPo Seafood is always a good idea), wine with lunch and doing a little closet organizing. This week’s finds include an apero perfect drink, a contest for a good cause, some fall fashion, and a podcast to listen to on your commute.
Bizzarro Spritz
Mildly bitter yet subtly sweet, Bizzarro Spritz is my new go to for Apero at our house. It is a small batch, hand made and all natural aperitivo that comes ready to pour in super cute cans. Serve alongside some charcuterie snacks and you have an instant happy hour. I picked mine up at local Italian market called Solo Cucina in South Portland.
Win A Dream Vacation in Paris
Help end hunger in Maine and win a weeklong stay in Paris, France? Sounds like a win win to me. Erica Berman moved from Paris to Maine 10 years ago and founded Veggies to Table, a non-profit helping to end hunger in her community. The grand prize includes a weeklong stay in Berman’s Montmartre apartment along with some other treats, like lunch for two at some very delicious restaurants. The runner up prize isn’t too shabby either, a weekend stay in Montreal, Canada at Le Centre Sheraton Hotel.

Sweater Vests
First overalls and now sweater vests? I had SO MANY sweater vests in high school that would probably still fit me if I had the foresight to keep them. This roundup by Jess Kirby has some super cute vests and I’m now on the hunt for a slouchy oversized vest, so cute. It’s crazy the things that come back in style. I wonder if I have any stashed away in my childhood bedroom…
Unexplainable
I listen to a lot of what my husband calls “murder porn”. I love true crime and a good mystery but I do need to take a break from it once and awhile. I’ve been listening to Unexplainable which is a science show about everything we don’t know. Like what did dinosaurs sounds like? Why do we dream? How medicine mansplained women’s health. It’s really interesting and new episodes air on Wednesday, which is great because Crime Junkies and Dark Downeast premiere on Monday. hehehe
Have a wonderful weekend!
