Friday Finds-April 22

April 22, 2022

I’ve been on April Break this week and although our travel plans didn’t go as expected I enjoyed my time off from school. The week started off quite stormy but ended with sunshine and later sunsets. This week’s finds include a yummy snack, a possible Sunday Supper recipe, a playlist and quirky hotel chain.

French Raclette Cheese

Raclette takes its name from the French verb ”racler”, meaning ”to scrape.” Traditionally, Alpine cheese makers would lunch upon boiled potatoes topped with this perfectly gooey cheese. We found some at The Cheese Iron in Scarborough, Maine. Pop it in the oven under a high broil until slightly bubbly, pair with a crusty baguette and some wine. Yum! The perfect afternoon snack.

Wine Braised Chicken with Leeks

I LOVE leeks and am always trying to find new ways to use this veggie. This recipe from NYT Cooking looks delicious and Sunday Supper worthy. It’s also ready in an hour and would make great leftovers so that’s always a plus for me.

Synthpop Nights

Andrew found a fun new to us synthpop playlist on Spotify. It has artists like M83, The Weeknd, ODESZA, and The Chemical Brothers. It’s perfect to have on in the background while cooking or playing a game. We’ve been listening to it all week and are not sick of it yet.

Graduate Hotels

When I was looking for places to stay this week I came across a very Wes Anderson style hotel chain, Graduate Hotels. Typically located in college towns these hotels are anything but cookie cutter. Scroll through their Instagram feed and you will see what I mean. We didn’t stay in one of these beauties yet but they are definitely bookmarked for later!

Have a wonderful weekend! Back to work for me on Monday so I’m going to enjoy every last bit of it 🙂
