I. Love. Coffee. Making my morning cup is literally the first thing I do when I exit my bedroom. I make a pretty great cup of coffee but when I’m out and about these are the places I love to pop in for my caffeine fix.

Arabica Coffee Shop

Arabica Coffee’s ultimate goal is to have their customers feeling “safe, comfortable, and caffeinated”. This cozy cafe on Free Street is full of locals on laptops, friends catching up and baristas who know how to make a mean cinnamon maple cortado! They have the tastiest seasonal drink specials and I always look forward to what creations they have come up with.

Bard Coffee

Located in the heart of the Old Port, Bard Coffee is a must stop when you’re doing a little shopping. The staff is super friendly and they know their coffee. They brew a great pour over, the housemade vanilla syrup is a great addition in your nitro cold brew, and their chair lattes will warm your soul. I love to sit at the communal high-top table to catch up with friends or step outside to Tommy’s Park and do a little people watching

Coffee By Design 

An institution in Portland, they’ve been around since 1994 and in a city like Portland that is no easy feat. I love popping into the India Street location because it has that 90s coffee shop feel. Bulletin boards full of community events, local art on the wall, and friendly baristas working their magic behind the bar. I love their seasonal lattes and I always make sure to grab a bag of beans to enjoy at home.  

Speckled Ax 

When you step into this quirky cafe you’ll notice their interesting brewing equipment right away. They have an array of devices for pour over brews which is my cup of choice. The Speckled Ax roasts their coffee using a vintage Italian Petroncini that’s wood roasted, giving it that delicious bold flavor. They have multiple locations around the city, so you’re always close to that delicious cup.

Tandem Coffee

When people think of Tamdem, they often think of their delicious pastries first (I’m talking about you cheddar jalapeno biscuit) BUT they also make a mean cup of coffee. Their name is Tandem Coffee, right? This little spot is the perfect place to grab a treat and an energizing coffee. Their Congress Street location is also a prime spot for people watching. 🙂
