Friday Finds September 6

Advertisements

Oh hello there! It’s been a hot minute since I’ve done one of these. Summer is over and I am back in the classroom with my kindergarteners. It’s always a shock to the system, starting a square on with these tiny humans. You forget how much they grow over the year. Andrew and I also celebrated our anniversary this week with a delicious dinner at The Knotted Apron in Portland. Everything was so delicious at this little neighborhood bistro, and the staff were top notch. Pop in sometime if you’re in the area. This week’s finds include a great meal prep recipe, some new hair care and a binge-worthy Netflix show.

Barbacoa Beef

I love a dish that can feed me for a week. I found this super easy Barbacoa Taco recipe that kept us super satisfied for multiple meals. It’s not too spicy and packed with flavor. We had tacos a few nights, tostadas another night and late-night nacho fries. This recipe took minimal effort and would be great to freeze for a busy weeknight meal as well. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, Closet Cooking never fails me with their recipes.

Dry Shampoo

I know there’s a little controversy around Blake Lively right now, but you can’t deny that the woman has great hair. I picked up some dry shampoo from her new line Blake Brown Beauty and it’s pretty great. The scent is a bit strong at first spray, but it fades as it works its magic throughout your hair. It left my hair feeling fresh and my waves intact. I’ve been a Batiste user for years, but it can sometimes make my hair just a little too….poofy and my natural wave disappears. It was a nice change on a busy school morning.

Kaos

We finally started watching the newest season of The Bear, man that show stresses me the f*ck out. It’s just so spot on! If you’ve ever worked in a restaurant, it can definitely spike those anxiety levels. Don’t get me wrong though, I really like it and will continue to stress watch it until I’m through with the season. Andrew suggested we give the show Kaos a try as a pallet cleanser of sorts. This is a mythological black comedy series on Netflix staring Jeff Goldblum as an insecure Zeus. It’s a little edgy, a little ridiculous, and just want we’ve been looking for. If you have Netflix check it out! Also, send show recommendations my way! We’re always looking for something to winddown too.

Have a great weekend!
