Well, this was an interesting week. Sunshiny, warm days at the beginning of the week and then Maine got walloped by spring storm. If April showers bring May flowers, I’m curious what April snowstorms bring. 😉 With over 18 inches in some areas, many of us are still trying to shovel out. All this time stuck inside gave me time to work on my little book nook project and get started on a new book. This week’s finds include an easy lunch recipe, some listening tips and an Amazon Prime find.
Chimichurri Chicken Bowl
We had a crazy amount of parsley in the fridge and I was looking for a way to use it before it went bad. I found this simple Chimichurri Chicken Bowl recipe and whipped it together after school Monday for Andrew’s lunches for the week. It came out super tasty, I did add black beans to the rice and little lettuce topper.
Be A Good Listener
I try to be a good listener but I know that I am guilty of being distracted during a conversation. My phone will ding, the subject of conversation will make me think of something I need to do, I’ll see a cute animal. Ok, I’m kind of the worst at being an active listener. This article from Self has some great tips on how to be a better listener.
Amazon First Reads
This is a new to me find. Did you know that if you are a Prime member and have a kindle you can get a free book the beginning of each month? Amazon does a First Reads for the month with books that are new to their kindle library. There is usually a good variety with a thriller, romance, historical fiction, and a memoir. I’m always a little late to the game and just discovered this last month. I downloaded my April book The Bootleggers Daughter, earlier this week.
I hope everyone has a great weekend. Fingers crossed that actual spring shows up again.
